Here is a salted lassi uniquely flavored with Cumin and hing. A must-try recipe to beat the heat.

Hing Jeere Wali Lassi

Ingredient     Quantity
Yogurt                  1 Cup
Black Salt             1/2 Tsp
Green Chilli Chopped 2 no.
Mint Leaves           10 – 12 no
Ginger Chopped     1 Tsp
Salt                          to taste
Ice                           as required
Water                      1 1/2 Cups
Asafoetida               1cm
Cumin seeds           1 tsp
Mint sprig                 for garnish

Method
1. Take a small lump of asafetida in a bowl and add 2 tbsp water, mash well to make a concentrate.
2. In a blender add yogurt, ginger, green chilli, black salt, mint leaves, salt, water, asafetida concentrate, small lump of asafetida and blend well.
3. Take ice in a bowl and strain the lassi.
4. Heat a pan and dry roast cumin seeds untill fragrant and grind coarsely.
5. Add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds and mix well.
6. Transfer the lassi to a serving glass garnish with mint leaves, add some cumin seeds on top and serve chilled.
