Palak Dal Shorba
Ingredient                               Quantity
Leftover Dal (Yellow)               1 cup
Spinach leaves                       200 gm.
Garlic slice                               2 no.
Ginger roughly chopped          1 inch piece
Bay leaf                                   1 no.
Black peppercorns                  1 Tsp
Coriander seeds                     1 Tsp
Coriander roughly chopped     2 tbsp
Lemon                                     1 no.
Butter                                      1 tbsp
Oil                                           1 tsp
Water                                      ¼ cup
Salt                                          to taste
Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf, black peppercorn, coriander seeds and ginger, mix well and
sauté till fragrant.
2. Add leftover yellow dal, water, coriander chopped and salt mix well and bring to boil.
3. Add Spinach leaves, mix well and boil for 1 min.
4. Switch off the flame and keep it aside to cool down for at least 10 min.
5. After 10 min. put the mixture in a blender and grind it well.
6. Heat butter in a pan, add garlic slice and sauté till garlic is brown in colour.
7. When garlic is brown in colour remove some garlic for garnish and keep it aside.
8. Strain the grinded mixture in a pan, mix well and bring to boil.
9. Add ¼ of lemon juice and mix well.
10. Remove in serving cups, garnish with fried garlic and serve hot with lemon wedge.
