Tomato Chutney Bengali Style
Ingredient Quantity
Tomato chopped 3 large
Mustard Oil 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Aniseeds 1 tsp
Onion seeds (kalonji) 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds (Methi Dana) 1 tsp
Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder ½ tsp
Black Salt ¼ tsp
Jaggery 3 tbsp
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds, aniseeds, onion seeds, mustard seeds and methi Dana, stir well and sauté till its splutters.
- Add chopped ginger and mix well.
- Add chopped tomatoes, mix well and cook for 3-4 min. or till tomatoes become pulpy.
- Add salt, red chilli powder, black powder and jaggery, mix well and cook till jaggery melts.
- Remove in the serving bowl and serve hot.
