Recipe Description

Soya Aloo Pulao

Ingredient                                                      Quantity

Basmati Rice (soaked for 15 min.)                 1½ cup

Soya Granuals (soaked)                                  1 cup

Ghee                                                                2-3 tbsp

Cumin seeds                                                    1 tsp

Bay leaf                                                           2-3 no.

Potato cut into cube size (Boiled)                   2 no. (Small)

Tomatoes cut into cube size                           1 no.

Ginger garlic paste                                         1 tbsp

Green chilli                                                     3 no.

Garam masala powder                                   1½ tsp + 1 tsp

Turmeric powder                                            ½ tsp

Red chilli powder                                            1½ tsp

Salt                                                                  to taste

Coriander leaves chopped                              2 tbsp

Mint leaves                                                     20 no. + 6-8 no.

Yogurt                                                             1 cup

Lemon juice                                                    1 no.

Brown onion                                                    3-4 tbsp + 1 tbsp

Water                                                              as required

 

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaf, mix well and sauté till cumin splutter.
  2. Add potatoes and ginger garlic paste, mix well and sauté for 1 min.
  3. Break the green chillies and add to the pan and mix well.
  4. Add soya granules and mix well.
  5. Add garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, chopped coriander and mint leaves, mix well and sauté for 2 min.
  6. Add yogurt and mix well.
  7. Add lemon juice and 3-4 tbsp of brown onion, mix well and sauté for 1 min.
  8. Drain the rice and add to the pan and spread well.
  9. Add 1 tbsp of brown onion brown onion, mint leaves, garam masala and water and mix well.
  10. Add tomatoes and mix well.
  11. Cover the pressure cooker tightly with its lid and cook for 3 whistles on a medium heat.
  12. After 3 whistles, switch of the flame and rest it for 15 min.
  13. After 15 min., take out the lid and mix well.
  14. Remove in serving bowl; garnish with brown onion and mint leaves and serve hot.
