Easy and tasty dal recipe from gujarat
Ingredients
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Cloves – 2-3 no
- Cinnamon stick – ¼ inch
- Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Ginger Chopped – ½ tsp
- Garlic chopped – ½ tsp
- Green chilli chopped – 2 no
- Onion chopped – 1 small
- Tomatoes chopped – 1small
- Salt to taste
- Red Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Raw peanut – 1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder – ¼ tsp
- Tovar dal soaked – 2 cup
- Water – 1 ½ cup
- Jaggery – 1 tbsp
Method:-
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker add clove, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds and mustard seeds and sauté.
- Add chopped ginger, garlic, green chilli and sauté.
- Then add chopped onion and sauté .Add chopped tomatoes, salt and sauté until tomatoes are mashed.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander cumin powder, raw peanuts and garam masala powder and sauté.
- Add little water and allow the masala to cook.
- Add soaked Tovar dal and water mix. Add jaggery and cover and cook for 2-3 whistle.
- Lastly add chopped coriander and remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot.
