Authentic Choley Masala . A chickpea curry blended with indian spices perfect Punjabi dish for any occassio
Ingredients
- Oil – 2½ tbsp.
- Bay leaf – 2
- Black cardamom -4 to 5
- Ajwain(Carom seeds) -½ tsp
- Onion chopped -1 cup
- Tomato – 4
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1½ tsp
- Choley masala – 2½ tbsp.
- Coriander powder – 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¾ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Dry mango powder – 1 tsp
- Chickpeas (soaked and boiled) – 3 cup
- Fresh coriander chopped – 2 tbsp
Method :-
- Heat oil in a pan add in the bay leaf , black cardamom, ajwain and sauté Add onion chopped and sauté till golden brown. Roughly chop the tomatoes and puree it and keep aside.
- Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for half mint.
- Add in the. Add in the tomato puree and cook the mixture for 5-6 mint.
- Add in red chilli powder, choley masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, dry mango powder and stir well. Cover with the lid and cook it for 2-3 mints until the oil ozes out.
- Add in the boiled chickpea with its stock and stir well. Add water Cook it on a medium flame 6-8 mints.
- Remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot.
