Recipe Description
A unique chaat, raw peanuts boiled with turmeric and tossed with chopped onions and tomatoes
Ingredients:-
- Raw peanuts – 2 cups
- Water – 5 cups
- Sea salt – 1 tablespoon
- Ground turmeric – 1 teaspoon
- Table salt – ½ teaspoon
- Chaat masala – ¼ teaspoon
- Red chile powder – ½ teaspoon
- Roasted cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
- Red onion, chopped – 1 medium
- Tomato, chopped – 1 medium
- Green chiles, chopped – 2 no
- Chopped fresh cilantro leaves – 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
Method:-
- Place a non stick deep pan on high heat and pour in 5 cups (1 liter) water. When the water comes to a boil, add the peanuts, sea salt and turmeric and cook for 20 minutes. Drain.
- Transfer the peanuts into a deep bowl. Add salt, chaat masala, chile powder, roasted cumin powder, onion, tomato, chiles, cilantro leaves, lemon juice and mix well.
- Serve hot or cold.
