Recipe Description

A unique chaat, raw peanuts boiled with turmeric and tossed with chopped onions and tomatoes

Ingredients:-

  • Raw peanuts – 2 cups
  • Water – 5 cups
  • Sea salt – 1 tablespoon
  • Ground turmeric – 1 teaspoon
  • Table salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Chaat masala – ¼ teaspoon
  • Red chile powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Red onion, chopped  – 1 medium
  • Tomato, chopped  – 1 medium
  • Green chiles, chopped  – 2 no
  • Chopped fresh cilantro leaves – 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons

 

Method:-

  1. Place a non stick deep pan on high heat and pour in 5 cups (1 liter) water.  When the water comes to a boil, add the peanuts, sea salt and turmeric and cook for 20 minutes.  Drain.
  2. Transfer the peanuts into a deep bowl.  Add salt, chaat masala, chile powder, roasted cumin powder, onion, tomato, chiles, cilantro leaves, lemon juice and mix well.
  3. Serve hot or cold.
