Amritsari Chicken Masala is an authentic North Indian dish, simply made in the unique amritsari rich and creamy gravy and flavored with fresh cream, butter and fresh tomatoes.
Ingredients quantity
Chicken 600gms
Lemon juice 1no.
Ginger garlic paste 1tbps+ 1tbsp
Red chili powder 1tbsp+ 1 ½ tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tbsp
Salt to taste+ to taste
Oil 5-6 tbsp
Bay leaf 2no.
Onion chopped 3-4no.
Cumin seeds 1tsp
Tomato chopped 2no.
Coriander powder 2tbsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Garam masala 1 ½ tsp
Curd ¼ cup
Ginger juliennes 1tsp
Green chilies slit 2no.
Water as required
Chopped coriander 2tsp+ 1tsp
Kasuri methi 1 tsp
Method
- In bowl add chicken, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, and turmeric powder, salt to taste and marinate the chicken properly.
- Now in a pan oil and let it heat properly, now add the marinated chicken in it and fry it properly.
- Once it is half fried remove it from the oil and keep aside.
- Now in same oil add bay leaf, chopped onions and sauté it till brown in color.
- Now add cumin seeds, add ginger garlic paste and sauté it for 1-2 mins properly.
- Now add chopped tomatoes and mix it properly,
- Now add salt and sauté it for 2-3 mins.
- Now add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and sauté it for 4-5 mins on medium flame.
