Recipe Description
An interesting recipe made with Turai (sponge gourd )
Ingredients :-
- Sponge gourd skin – 1 cup
- Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Onion chopped – 1 medium
- Green chillies – 2
- Salt – to taste
- Roasted chana dal (dalia) – 2 tablespoons
- Tamarind pulp – 1 teaspoon
- coriander powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- For tempering
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves – 7-8
Method:-
- Heat oil in a pan add in the Green chilli, chopped onion and sauté well.
- Add in the sponge gourd peel and sauté well.
- Add in roasted chana dal, red chilli, and coriander powder, salt and mix well.
- Add in water and cook until the peel is soft.
- Now add in tamarind pulp and mix well.
- Grind it into fine paste, remove it in a bowl and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan adds in mustard seeds, curry leaves and sauté.
- Now add this mixture on the chutney and mix well.
- Remove it in a bowl and serve.
