Recipe Description

Translucent rice paper with crunchy filling and sweet sauce…transports you to the Orient.

Ingredients:-

  • Rice papers – 4 no
  • Oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Onions, chopped – 2 spring
  • Chopped water chestnuts – ½ cup
  • Ginger, minced – ½ inch
  • Soy sauce – 2 tablespoons
  • Red chilli sauce – 1 teaspoon
  • Rice vinegar – 1 tablespoon
  • Bean sprouts – ½ cup
  • Plum sauce, for dipping – 2 tablespoons

 

Method:-

  1. Soak the rice papers in water for one minute before using.
  2. Heat the oil in a non stick pan and stir-fry the spring onions and water chestnuts for about two minutes on medium heat. Add the ginger, soy sauce, red chilli sauce and rice vinegar. Stir-fry for another two minutes ensuring that the vegetables remain crunchy and are not overcooked.
  3. Add the bean sprouts and stir-fry for another minute.
  4. Divide this mixture into four portions and place a portion on each rice paper. Roll up tightly.
  5. Serve immediately.
