Recipe Description

 

Delicious & authentic apple flavoured semonila halwa.

Ingredients:-

  • Semolina (suji/rawa), roasted – ½ cup
  • Apples – 1 large
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Sugar – ⅓ cup
  • Green cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Saffron – a generous pinch
  • Pistachios, blanched and slivered – 5-6 no

 

Method:-

  1. Thinly slice one apple and puree the other.
  2. Place the semolina, milk, sugar, apple puree, green cardamom powder and half the saffron in a microwave-safe bowl and cook, covered on high (100%) for three minutes.
  3. Divide into four portions.  Pack each portion tightly into a bowl, turn it upside down onto a serving plate and de-mould.
  4. Decorate with apple slices, pistachios and the remaining saffron.
  5. Serve hot or at room temperature.
