Recipe Description

A delicious and authentic dish.Methi Mutter Malai. Fresh methi and green peas cooked rich creamy gravy

Ingredients

For the paste

  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon stick – ¼ inch
  • Cloves – 4-5
  • Cardamom – 2
  • Black peppercorn – 1 tsp
  • Green chillies chopped – 1
  • Ginger chopped – ½ inch
  • Onion quartered – 2
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Cashew nut – 15 nos
  • Ginger chopped – 1 tsp
  • Green peas boiled – 1 ½ cup
  • Fenugreek leaves plucked , washed boiled – 2cups
  • Green chilli chopped – 2-3
  • Garlic – 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Salt – To taste
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • cream – ¼ cup
  • turmeric – ½ tsp
  • Qasoori methi – ½ tsp
  • Ginger juliennes – For garnish

Method

  1. In a pan add water onion cashew nut and bring it to a boil , strained and grind it a paste along with cardamom, cloves, peppercorn, cinnamon and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan addin the cumin seeds ginger, garlic cook for a minute.
  3. Add in the methi and sauté for 4-5 mins . Add green chillies and sauté well for some more time.
  4. Now strained the onion mixture directly into the pan and sauté well for few mints. Then add in the turmeric , salt, Qasoori methi and garam masala and mix well.
  5. Add in the boiled green peas cook the mixture until well blended.
  6. Lastly add in the cream and stir well cook few mints.
  7. Remove it in a serving plate garnish it with little cream, some Qasoori powder and ginger juliennes.
