Recipe Description

Quick way of making South Indian breakfast using leftover chapattis.

Ingredient                                          Quantity

Leftover chapatti                                4-5 no.

Mustard seeds                                     ½ tsp

Chopped tomatoes                               1 no.

Chopped green chillies chopped         3-4 no.

Red chilli powder                                 ½ tsp

Turmeric powder                                 1 tsp

Chopped coriander                              1 tbsp

Salt                                                       to taste

Chopped onion                                     1 no.

Oil                                                        1 ½ tbsp

Curry leaves                                         6-7 no.

Green peas boiled                                ¼ cup

Chana dal                                             1 tsp

Split skinless urad dal                           1 tsp

 

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan add in the mustard seed, white urad dal, chana dal, cook till mustard seeds splutter and urad dal browns.
  2. Meanwhile cut the chapattis into small pieces.
  3. Add chopped ginger, green chillis, curry leaves, sauté for ½ mins
  4. Add onions, tomatoes, and cook for 2 mins
  5. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder mix well.
  6. Add chapatti and mix well and sauté for 2-3 mins.
  7. Add fresh coriander, green peas and mix well.
  8. Remove in a serving bowl and serve hot.
