Recipe Description

A mouth watering snack made from green bengal gram.

Ingredients:-

  • Dried green bengal gram, soaked overnight – 1½ cups
  • Onions, chopped – 2 medium
  • Tomatoes, chopped – 2 medium
  • Green chillies, chopped – 2-3 no
  • Chopped fresh coriander – 2 tablespoons
  • Black salt – to taste
  • Roasted cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons

Method:-

  1. Pressure-cook the soaked gram in three cups of water till the pressure is released two or three times (two or three whistles), or till tender.
  2. Transfer the gram to a kadai and simmer till all the water evaporates.
  3. Place the hot gram in a bowl. Add the onions, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, black salt, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, chilli powder and lemon juice and mix well.
  4. Serve immediately.
