Recipe Description
A traditional dish cooked with raw mangoes in Maharashtra, eaten with parathas, bread and meals
Ingredients
- Oi-1 Tbsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
- Fenugreek seeds – ¼ tsp
- Raw mango – 1 large
- Curry leaves – 8-10
- Onion chopped – 1 small
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Coriander powder-1 tsp
- Jaggery-1 cup
Method
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves. And sauté for ½ mins.
- Add in the chopped onion and sauté well. In a meanwhile cut mango with skin on into small cubes.
- As onions brown, Add ginger garlic paste and sauté well for 1 mins. Add in red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder and sauté well.
- Now add the jaggery and mangoes and sauté well till jaggery melts.
- Cover and cook it for 6-8 mins, keep stirring in between
- Once cooked remove it in a bowl cool it and have it.
