Recipe Description

Kolkatta Style Fried Chilli chicken

  • Chicken Breast – large
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Black pepper crushed 1 tsp
  • Soy sauce – 1 tsp
  • Refined flour 1 cup + 1cup
  • Corn starch 1 cup
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • water as required-
  • Cooking Soda- ¼ tsp
  • Oil for deep fry

For Masala

  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Garlic chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger Chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Green Chillies cut into diagonal – 5-6 no
  • Onion chopped -1medium
  • Onion cube – 1 small
  • Capsicum cube – 1 small
  • Soy sauce – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black Pepper Crushed – ½ tsp
  • Spring onion – 1 tbsp

 

Method:-

  1. Thinly slice the chicken and pat it.
    In a bowl add chicken , salt, pepper, schezwan chutney, soy sauce and mix well. Marinate for some time
  2. In another bowl add 1 cup refined flour, corn flour, oil , water and make a thick batter.
  3. Add cooking soda and mix well.
  4. Keep oil for deep frying.
  5. In a plate take remaining refined flour and dredged the chicken.
  6. Now dip the chicken in the batter and deep fry until crisp and golden brown
  7. Remove it on a absorbent paper and keep aside.
  8. Now heat oil in another pan add garlic, ginger and green chilli and sauté .
  9. Add chopped onion and cook it for some time.
  10. Add onion cubes, capsicum cube and sauté for 3-4 mins
  11. Then add soya sauce, salt, pepper and chopped spring onion and mix well.
  12. Now cut the chicken into strips and place it on the serving plate.
  13. Now add the prepared mixture over it garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot.
