Recipe Description

This healthy vegetarian one bowl dish is a complete meal, traditionally cooked in every Gujarati Household.

Ingredients:-

For Dhokli

  • Whole wheat Flour – 1 cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  • Red Chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Green Chilli chopped – 2-3
  • Ginger chopped – ½ tsp
  • Cumin Seeds –  ½ tsp
  • Coriander Chop – 1tbsp

For Dal

  • OIL – 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon small – ½ stick
  • Clove – 2-3
  • Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Red Chilli Whole – 2
  • Curry Leaves – 5-6
  • Hing – ¼ tsp
  • Garlic chopped – 1tsp
  • Ginger Chopped – 1 tsp
  • Green chilli Chopped –   1 tsp
  • Peanut – 1 tbsp
  • Tomatoes chopped- 1
  • Salt – to taste
  • Red Chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder – ½ tsp
  • Dal boiled with ½ tsp turmeric and salt – 2 cups
  • Jaggery  – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander chopped – 2 tsp

For Tadka

  • Ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 1 tsp
  • Lemon – ½ no

 

Method:-

  1. In a bowl add in the whole wheat flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, and chopped coriander mix. Now add water and make soft dough. Apply little oil and rest the dough for sometime
  2. For Dal
  3. Heat oil in a pan adds in the cinnamon, clove, cumin, mustard seeds and sauté. Add in the red chilli whole, hing and curry leaves and sauté for more ½ mints
  4. Add in the chopped ginger, garlic, green chilli and sauté well. Add in the peanut, and chopped tomatoes and sauté
  5. Then add in the red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt and sauté until the tomatoes are cook well.
  6. Then add in the boiled dal and water cook the dal 7-8 mints
  7. Meanwhile divide the dough and roll the dough into chapatti and cut it into desire shape
  8. Once the dal has come to a boil add in the Jaggery and  prepared dhokli one by and cook the dal for more 5-8 mints until the dhoklis are cook
  9. Now add in the chopped coriander and lemon juice and mix well.
  10. Remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot
