Recipe Description
The perfect North Indian dish chicken saagwala (Chicken and spinach curry) Indian style.
Ingredients
- Chicken cut into pieces – 700 grms
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Spinach puree – 2cup
- Sarson chopped – 1 bunch
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Bay leaf – 2
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Onion chopped – 1
- Tomatoes chopped – 1
- Salt – To taste
- Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1tsp
- yoghurt – 1cup
- Coriander powder – 1tsp
- Lemon wedges – For garnish
Method
- heat the oil and add cumin, when it splutters, add bay leaf, , and sauté for ½ mint
- Add onions and sauté till soft. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté. Then add chopped tomatoes and sauté well.
- Add the chicken over high heat and turn around till opaque.
- Add the salt, garam masala and the red chilli powder. Coriander powder, turmeric powder and stir till well mixed
- Add in the chopped sarson and cooked until the sarson it cooked.
- Add spinach and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Lastly add yogurt mix well and simmer for 1-2 mints.
- Remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot.
