Recipe Description

Plum Chutney with a sweet and sour taste, a must try

Ingredients:-

  • Aloo bukhare (ripe plums), seeded and pureed 8-10 no medium
  • Table salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Jaggery, grated – ½ cup
  • Rock salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Red chile powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Stoned and chopped dates – 6-8 no.

Method:-

  1. Heat a thick-bottomed non stick pan on medium heat and pour the plum puree in it.
  2. When it comes to a boil add the salt, jaggery, rock salt, chile powder and stir well.
  3. Simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes or till it thickens.  Add cumin powder. Stir and let it simmer further for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Mix in dates and cook for 2 minutes stirring continuously. Remove from heat, cool thoroughly and store in a sterilized, airtight glass jar.
